After sharing Part 1, many parents reached out. Parents, students, scholars are curious, anxious, hopeful, all wondering:
Let’s talk about some of the biggest myths that keep good parents from exploring homeschooling. Let’s explore what’s actually true.
Myth #1: “You have to be a teacher to homeschool.”
Absolutely not. You have to be willing to learn with your child — that’s it.
There’s no degree required to be present, patient, or passionate about your child’s growth.
The truth? Parents are their child’s first and most natural teachers. Homeschooling just extends that privilege.
Myth #2: “Your child will miss out socially.”
This one makes me smile every time.
Homeschooled children meet others through social events, church, sports, family events, volunteering, and co-ops.
Socialization isn’t about sitting in a crowded classroom. It’s about meaningful connection, and that’s something homeschooling allows more of, not less.
Myth #3: “It’s too expensive.”
It can be, if you think education only happens through expensive curriculums or fancy apps.
But there are incredible free resources (including full curriculums) from both local and international platforms.
